Hello, my name is Martha Walters and I want to thank you for stopping by to learn more about me, what I do and why I am so proud to be in this fantastic business, founder of the Love Your Life Team and member of The Flames Team.
I live in Sunny Florida with my husband and we have been married for 25 years. We have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. We also have 3 fur-babies: 2 dogs and 1 cat. Time flies....
My WHY for being in this business comes from my experiences, belief in this company and it's products and a desire to help others change the direction of their future as I have mine.
I have done what most everyone else has done in their lifetime. I worked for a company for 20 years, worked hard to get to the top of my field, had a good job and made good money. It was a sense of pride for me because I worked hard to accomplish this. Life was good and I saw retirement coming in a few years.
But then, as many companies are doing today, my position was eliminated due to downsizing. I was faced with two choices: I could leave the company or step down to a lesser paying position and keep working. What a choice, right? Needless to say, we all need to work so I followed the path of the latter of the two.
It was an eye opening and shocking experience. For a long time I found myself asking "Did this really just happen to me?". There were lots of emotions which I won't explain here. The main one was disbelief. But those emotions were the impetus for change, a new sense of direction and the very beginnings of my Gourmet Candle and Mineral Makeup business.
I made a decision. The future was mine. My future and my family's future depended on that. I could stay in a position where something else called the shots or I could embark on something that would build a future for us that was in my hands. From now on, I would be the one in charge of our destiny.
I knew it was going to take hard work and discipline. It would take an action plan. It would take diligence. I gave all of that to my employer. If I had done that for them, surely I could do it for me!
I already loved the candles and the company. While it was something I didn't think I had time for before, I began to realize that my love for the products and the company were my vehicle to take me where I wanted to go. I took that first step and began my business. I went full force and found the time to make the change I was so wanting in my life. And, I have never looked back.
There are many of us, including myself, who have desires and dreams in this world. What I like so much about our company and opportunity is anyone who wants to succeed can! There is a better life for all of us. Working my candle business has made me love life more and became the birth of the Love Your Life Team.
